Beautiful Boy

Scrapbook layout created for Clique Kits  -  BEAUTIFUL BOY -

Hello there!

Today, I am up on the Clique Kits blog with a new layout created using their March kit, "PLAY".   The colors in the papers of the kit are gorgeous, and the kit is so loaded with some many small details that it is so easy to create projects with it.

It all started by creating a watercolor background to resemble the sky.   Once the background was dried, the image from the Cut Shoppe's Happy Little Clouds cut file was attached to the layout (all the empty spaces on the cut out were backed with papers from the kit, and vellum.  A bit of hand stitching adds some texture to the page).

The PLAY kit is so full of many beautiful embelishments, and Clique Kits always makes sure to stock products that will coordinate with their kits in  the store's shelves.  The picture of baby Tadeo was beautifully framed with clusters created with the kit, and its add-ons.   For the title, I simply combined the alphas and word foam stickers from the collection.   After adding a few more details, the layout was completed .

I have created a small video on how this page came together, please enjoy!

Lovely Dream

Scrapbook Layout created for Clique Kits's Pep Rally   - LOVELY DREAM -

Hello friends,

It is pep rally day over at Clique Kits!  Which means two things, there will be a lot of inspiration from the DT and subscribers using the beautiful BEE YOU kit, and a new kit will be unveiled.

For today's project, I chose to play with two of this month's kits exclusive cut files.   I simply welded some of the flowers together, then welded this image to one of the hexagons in the beehive cut file, and cut the image on white card stock.  In addition, I used the pencil attachment to draw the rest of the hexagon shaped around the hexagon.

The cut out was backed with vellum and then with one of the papers from the kit,  a bit of hand stitching  to the pierce edges completes the look of this layout.

To bring softness to the page, I simply trimmed a bit of the white card stock, and stitched it to the a side of the paper that backs the center hexagon.   The picture of my cousin and my goddaughter (her daughter) was then attached to the bottom corner of the center hexagon.   A few pieces from the kit form the title and frame the picture.

I hid the journal on this page using a small envelope ( taped to the back of the layout),  and wrote all the details on how much  i love these girls even when they are so far from me, and i have to live through video chats and pictures.   To bring attention to the journal card,  I added some of the cork triangles at the top of the page, and glued a small butterfly along with it,  Here is final layout:

It is amazing how  two images can be manipulated to create the background of this layout.  You can find the cut files used for this layout at Clique Kits.   You can find all the digital products at the Clique Digital Store, and since you are there, take some time to check what is available in the shelves  -there is always new stuff being added-.

As always let me know if you have any questions on  how any of  this came together.

Thanks for visiting today!

Be You

Scrapbook Layout created for the Cut Shoppe  - BE YOU  -

Hello there,

The weather has been beautiful the past few days here in Toronto, and that has me thinking of the upcoming Spring season, especially flowers.   So i set out to create a layout all about my crazy daughter who just like flowers is slowly taking shape into a young woman...  For this project I pulled out some papers from the Take me Away collection, and two of the Cut Shoppe's cut files, "Flower Delivery", & "Just Be You".

To create the background for this page,  one of the flowers in the "Flower Delivery" cut file was used  by copying and welding it in a cascade shape .   There is also graduation on the size of the flower as to give the idea of depth to the layout.   The image was cut on white card stock trimmed to 11.5x11.5in.   Using papers from the Take Me Away collection, the background flowers were also cut.     To assemble, the negative part of the cut was attached to a green paper from the collection (so that when the petals of the flowers are lifted, the  paper will show as leaves behind the page.

To secure the flowers in place, and to add color to the page, the centers of each flower were stitched creating a pinwheel effect to each of the flowers.

The title of this page was constructed using the "Just Be You" cut file.  This time, the cut file was sized and printed on trace paper.  Then using a piercing tool, a stitching guide was created, a few coats of metallic watercolor before stitching complete the title.

This is what i get when I point the camera towards my daughter, so chose to create simple clusters around the picture using pieces from the Take Me Away collection.     The journal lines were written on the small green edge that shows on the side of the layout.  Here  is the final layout:

I love the end result of this layout.  The Cut Shoppe's cut files lend movement and interest to the page.   Don't forget to stop by the Cut Shoppe's Etsy store to check all the  cut files available, there is always inspiration to be found.  As always let me know if you have any questions on how this came together.

Thanks for Stopping by!

BeYOUtiful

Scrapbook Layout -  BEYOUTIFUL -

Hello there!

It seems that I am always left with papers from different kits, so I am trying my best to make space for all the new goodies, by using up as much as i can from all the kits. This time, I am working on killing the BEE YOU kit from  Clique Kits.   This is such a beautiful kit full of American Crafts "Hazelwood" collection.   So let  me show you what i did with this kit.

I was drawn to the bee-hive paper in the kit, so i cut up the hexagons and set them aside.   To create the background, I used a combination of color shine ink to create three color clusters on  the page.   Once the ink dried, I simply hand stitched the hexagons leaving a small space in between each other.  Here are some close ups:

Next using the Just Be You cut file from The Cut Shoppe, I stitched the title at the bottom of the page using white floss ( i did not want the title to stand out in this layout)

The picture of my niece and daughter being silly for the camera is the focal point of this layout, so I transformed it to black and white.  I framed the picture with clusters of pieces from the kit that matched the colors of the hexagons.

I used one of the empty spaces between the hexagons to add my journal lines, and added black ink around the entire project ( too much, i think now!). Here is the final layout:

What can i say, I love the end result of this page.    The colors, the background, and all that stitching are just so my style.   To check all the details on this kit, please visit  Clique Kits to see what is included in the kit, and what they have available in their store.   As always let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for visiting!

Snow Cute

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  - SNOW CUTE  -

Hello friends!

It is Friday!, and my last day of reveals for Scrapbook Nerd.

This winter has been rather mild here in Canada, however we have had lots of snow accumulation in all of the country.   I LOVE SNOW, especially when it is falling, or right after it has fallen, usually i take long walks on it, and bring my kids for the ride.   So I decided to document one of the many pictures from our first snow fall.

I wanted to capture the beauty of the snow day, and my daughter, so I cut, watercolor, and hand stitched one of  the snowflake images from the Cut Shoppe's "Winter Weather" cut file.    The color of the snowflake happens to match the hat my daughter is wearing in this picture.

I wanted the whiteness of the snow to be highlighted in the picture, so I chose to use  one of the papers in the WInter Wonderland collection from Simple Stories.   The picture was framed with pieces from the collection add ons.

For the title, I simply fussy cut one of the cut apart cards from the collection, and attached it to the layout using foam adhesive, along with some of the fun stickers from the collection.  Here is the complete layout:

I love the color combination, and simplicity in this layout.   You can checked all the materials used from Scrapbook Nerd,   remember to stop by to check what the ladies are bringing to their shelves.    As always let me know if you have any questions on how any of the projects came together.

Thanks for visiting!

Darling

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  -  DARLING -

Hello!

There are only two more projects to go before the end of my reveal week for Scrapbook Nerd.  This time, i wanted to work with one of my favorite winter collections,  American Crafts's Hazelwood collection by 1Canoe2.

Here is small video on how the page came together:

I hope you enjoyed the video, here is  a quick recap, and close ups of the layout:

The background was created by fussy cutting the large floral paper.  This was attached to a premade circle (out of white card stock) backed with another paper from the collection.

The picture was placed on the opposite side of the floral cuts.  The picture is framed with pieces from the collection add ons.

The title comes from the collection chipboard stickers;  the butterflies in this layout were attached on vellum to add softness to the page.  Here is the final layout:

I love this layout - I am a sucker for large florals-.   You can find all the materials used in this layout in the Scrapbook Nerd Store, plus they are receiving all the new collections, so you want to stop by.

Remember i am a comment away if you have any questions on how this came together.

Thanks for visiting today!
